About Us

Who Are We?

Mothers of Black Boys, Incorporated is a membership-based nonprofit support group of professional women raising Black males of all ages. In an effort improve the overall growth and development of Black males, this non-profit organization was established to be a strong support mechanism to single, married, or divorced women. Mothers of Black Boys, Inc., affectionately known as MOBB, Inc. strives to address the issues of Black males by building a pool of resources, establishing a professional network, and creating effective community partnerships.

Our platform consists of: Education, Health & Wellness, Social, Cultural Awareness, and Community Service. We have established programs to address each area of focus.

Our Programs

We believe that parental involvement drives the success of children, and in that spirit we have developed a program called M.A.G.I.C.©, the Motherhood Academy for Growth, Innovation, & Caring. M.A.G.I.C.© is our signature parental involvement program designed to empower, inspire, and encourage mothers to actively support their sons to become good stewards of their personal gifts and talents. M.A.G.I.C.© equips mothers with research-based strategies that promote integrity, excellence, strong character and high–quality leadership abilities in black males.

In addition to our parental involvement program, we have an early literacy program called Babbling for Books©. Babbling for Books© is for mothers with infants to kindergarten-aged children. This program is designed to lay a firm foundation and promote literacy early in a child's life. Babbling for Books© gives parents the opportunity to help their children develop reading, speaking, listening, and writing skills at an early age.

MOBB, Inc. finds it imperative to channel the talents and gifts of children, and in keeping with our mission, we have created The MOBB Male Leadership Academy©. This leadership development program is designed to develop and enhance social skills, personal improvement, and problem solving within males of all ages. The boys will host community service projects, actively participate in school programs/ assemblies, and assume other leadership roles in the school and community.

Through our signature programs and initiatives we believe the lives of our young males will be enhanced tremendously, and the academic achievement gap between black males and their counterparts will be eliminated. Our newest program is the South Carolina Leading Ladies Awards Program, whereby we recognize trailblazing women in the State of South Carolina for their selfless contributions to their professions and communities.
